Priority Research Areas

ECRI seeks to support the work of researchers working to understand key climate drivers that will harm the environment, human health and wellbeing, and widen the gap in environmental and social justice.

Our efforts will generate innovative mitigation and adaption solutions to offset the impacts of climate change, including addressing sustainability measures and community resilience in the Southeastern US.

The goal of this project is to establish an indicator platform to track regional climate and health actions in Georgia, with the vision of expanding its coverage to the Southeast and eventually the entire United States.

The goal of this project is to characterize climate change mitigated migration and displacement of people in the Southeastand the health risks for those displaced.

The goal of this project is to understand the challenges to creating a more healthy, equitable, and sustainable food system that ensures both human and planetary wellbeing in response to climate change.

The goal of this project is to improve our understanding of heat vulnerability and aid in the design of interventions and policies to protect vulnerable populations.

Climate Justice

The goal of this cross-cutting theme is to raise the consciousness of Emory students, staff, and faculty about climate justice and build points of collaboration in and beyond Emory in work around climate justice.
